In the last few months, I have been reading hundreds of testimonials from my acid reflux customers. And one thing stuck out to me, the link between curing acid reflux and losing weight. I have never even considered this! And after reviewing some hundred + testimonials, I noticed how so many of my ex-acid reflux customers also noted how they have lost 5-25 pounds from our natural treatment of acid reflux!

And finally recently, I was reading the morning newspaper and what do I see? “Acid Reflux and Fat go Hand in Hand” and I immediately had the epiphany that I might be on to something! I jotted on my palm pilot, “Cure Heartburn and Lose Weight” and immediately went to our Naturally Treat Acid Reflux report. And guess what I find? An obvious connection between losing weight and to naturally treat acid reflux!

But What is Acid Reflux?

The stomach contains acids! In fact, the stomach acids are just as acidic as car battery acid. The function of this potent acid is to help you digest the food. Your stomach has no problem handing this due to its thick lining. However, the problem arises when the stomach acid backs up into your esophagus. When this happens it is clinically labeled heartburn. When this happens for an extended period, it is called acid reflux or GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux disease).

Being Overweight and Acid Reflux

A recent Italian research study has reported the conclusive connection between being overweight and suffering from acid reflux. The study documented how overweight patients (especially women) run a greater risk of hospitalization of GERD (acid reflux). Unfortunately, as more and more people struggle with managing their weight; acid reflux hospitalization has been sky-rocketing in the past 10 years.

But here is the good news!

Naturally Cure Acid Reflux, Lose Weight and Heighten Sex Drive

Are you overweight and wish you could shed a 10+ pounds in the next couple months?

Do you wish you had the sex drive you had 20 years ago?

Are you tired of worrying about heartburn every time you eat your favorite dish?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, what you read in the next couple minutes might be the news you’ve always wanted to hear!

Before, I tell you why you should naturally treat acid reflux; I would like to tell you why you shouldn’t use prescription drugs to treat acid reflux. If you have ever heard the word ‘gastrin’, you know that prescription drugs increase your bodily production of this cancer-causing hormone. That is why the prescription drug has the warning of “Do not exceed 4-8 weeks of use”. Unfortunately, your doctor will never tell you of this part of your ‘helpful’ prescription drug.

But you have a simpler and more effective option!

How Your Diet is Everything!

As being overweight is the cause of acid reflux. Losing weight with water-soluble fiber foods can also be the cure to acid reflux. And an added bonus, losing weight is extremely conducive with increasing your sex drive.

You can naturally cure acid reflux, lose weight and heighten your sex drive with a few simple acid reflux remedies. Why? Because your diet is everything you need to cure acid reflux. In fact, these 5 simple remedies have helped my over-one thousand acid reflux customers cure acid reflux.

1.	Eat meals that are about the size of your clutched fist! You should eat about 5 times per day! This will allow your metabolism and esophageal sphincter to work more efficiently.

2.	Avoid lying down after meals for 3 hours. Your esophageal sphincter will work more properly and your metabolism will burn more calories throughout the day.

3.	Eat some water-soluble fiber! In other words, eat raw, fresh fruits and vegetables which are easily digested by your body. You will notice the benefits in days!

4.	Stay from acidic and carbonated drinks! Take fast from alcoholic and carbonated drinks (soft drinks). Your esophagus will thank you and you could shed up to 20 pounds in one year!

5.	Apples! A simple apple will cure any acid reflux flare-up and are perfect for healthy treat for a sweet tooth.

Are you interested in a step-by-step guaranteed natural acid reflux treatment? Are you tired of paying a few hundred dollars for a hospital visit and over-priced medication? Are you ready to finally be pro-active about your health? If you are ready… take a moment to visit Naturally Treat Acid Reflux website and our no-risk guarantee!

Acid reflux or GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux) is a medical term used to describe a condition where food and stomach acid back up into the esophagus. At the bottom of the esophagus is a ring of muscles called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The LES opens and closes to allow food to enter the stomach. After meals, the LES opens to release gas. However, more than just gas may escape. Stomach contents may flow back into the esophagus and out the mouth. What parents see is the infant spitting up, vomiting can also occur.

Acid reflux can occur during or after a feeding. It can also occur when babies cough or cry as well. Acid reflux occurs in the first three months of age in more than half of all infants. It is quite common and is generally called ’spitting up’. However, most babies do not need treatment. Acid reflux symptoms usually disappear between 12 to 18 months of age. For a very small number of babies the symptoms can be quite severe. In these cases, medical treatment is required.

Common acid reflux symptoms in infants:

• frequent coughing

• frequent hiccups

• wet burps

• bad breath

• frequent spitting up

• irritable while feeding

• frequent waking

• arching back while feeding

• constant or sudden crying

• eating small amounts of food or refusing food

Less common acid reflux symptoms in infants:

• excessive drooling

• frequent sinus or ear infections

• poor weight gain or weight loss

• frequent sore throat

• trouble swallowing

• asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis, wheezing

Sometimes your doctor may make a diagnosis of acid reflux based on a parent’s description of symptoms and feeding history and a physical exam even if your baby is healthy and growing well. If your baby’s doctor suspects a more serious condition, such as GERD they may order more tests. These tests may include esophageal pH monitoring which measures the acidity in your baby’s esophagus. Another test is an Upper endoscopy. This is where a tube with a camera lens and light is inserted through the baby’s mouth and into the esophagus and stomach. The doctor uses this procedure to see if there is a narrowing or inflammation in the esophagus.

For most babies, acid reflux will disappear during the first year of life. It is extremely important to discuss the treatment options with your baby’s doctor before beginning any treatment method, especially before using any over-the-counter medicine.

Acid reflux in dogs is actually a condition that is known as Gastroesophageal reflux, and it is characterized by a reverse flow of intestinal or gastric fluids that is uncontrollable, and brings the fluids up into the tube that connects the stomach and the throat to one another, the esophagus. There are a couple of different things that may cause an occurrence of acid reflux in dogs, including a brief relaxation of the esophageal sphincter, the muscular opening at the base of the esophagus. Another cause for acid reflux in dogs is chronic issues with vomiting. In both dogs and cats this acid reflux can be relatively common, and although younger animals tend to be at a greater risk, acid reflux in dogs and cats may occur at any age.

This disease is not a healthy occurrence in dogs or in any other animal for that matter because the stomach acid, bile salts, pepsin and other gastrointestinal components are capable of causing damage to the protective lining of the esophagus. This can quickly result in an inflammation of the esophagus, a phenomenon known as Esophagitis.

The first step to analyzing the symptoms when you believe that your dog has Gastroesophageal reflux is to take a look at his or her behavioral history. The history of your dog\’s behavior can reveal a lot. For example, if a dog is spitting up or regurgitating food, whining or howling to indicate pain during swallowing, is losing weight or appears to have less of an appetite than usual, these are potential signs that your dog is dealing with this condition. Physical examinations may not always be able to reveal concrete findings regarding acid reflux in dogs. Severe esophagitis on the other hand may be easier to diagnose as it offers additional symptoms including fever and extreme amounts of salivation.

Acid reflux is capable of causing esophagitis with a varying amount of damage possible. Mild esophagitis caused by acid reflux in dogs may be limited to a mild amount of inflammation of the sensitive lining of the esophagus, while more severe levels of esophagitis may cause damage to deeper layers of tissue within the esophagus, causing greater harm. Acid reflux may occur in dogs any time that an anesthetic is administered, as this causes the gastroesophageal sphincter to relax enough to create the reverse flow of the stomach\’s contents into the esophagus. If the dog is positioned improperly during anesthesia or fails to fast properly before anesthesia is admitted, acid reflux may occur as a result.

Because younger dogs are still developing, their underdeveloped gastroesophageal sphincters put them at greater risk. The best means of diagnosis is the use of an esophagoscopy. This is an examination that uses an internal camera in order to view the esophagus and its lining. Changes in the mucus lining the inside of the esophagus will indicate whether or not acid reflux has caused damage to the sensitive tissue.

Most treatment for acid reflux in dogs can be done at home. Food should be withheld for a day or two, and then a low fat and low protein diet should be administered. Acid reflux in dogs can be combated by feeding small and frequent meals, and dietary fats and proteins should be significantly limited. This is because the fat in the food can decrease the strength of the muscle keeping the esophagus and stomach separated, and the protein in the food can stimulate the secretion of gastric acid into the esophagus. Another option for combating acid reflux in dogs is to administer medicine in the form of a gastrointestinal pro-kinetic agent. These medications are capable of improving the movement of the stomach contents through the intestines, and are also capable of strengthening the gastroesophageal sphincter. Even when on medication, however, a change in diet is necessary for combating acid reflux on a long term basis.

What is acid reflux and why does it hurt so badly? You might be asking this question if you suffer from heartburn or other symptoms of acid reflux. Acid reflux is sometimes referred to as GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). The symptoms of acid reflux can be confused with gas or even a heart attack. The symptoms can be mild to quite painful, and sometimes difficult to recognize.

Acid reflux is not gas. Gas, when it feels like it is in the chest, is actually excess air that has been swallowed and is trapped in the esophagus. Excess air can be swallowed while eating, drinking, or smoking. Some people with loose dentures will swallow excess air as well. This type of gas, as opposed to gas caused from food in the stomach and intestines, is released when you burp, or belch.

Heartburn is the most common symptoms of acid reflux. Heartburn feels like a burning sensation in the chest and can be mild or it can be very painful. Some other common symptoms of acid reflux are nausea and vomiting, and regurgitation. Some more serious symptoms of acid reflux can include coughing and wheezing, the feeling like something is caught in the throat or a choking feeling, ulcers in the esophagus that can lead to strictures (scar tissue), inflammation of the esophagus and throat, and even inflammation of the lungs.

What is acid reflux caused by? Acid and pepsin is produced in the stomach to digest food. With acid reflux, these acids will be forced up (reflux) into the esophagus. Acid reflux has several causes. Often the stomach is just too slow to digest the foods we eat. When this happens, the stomach makes more acid to try to digest what is left. Soon there is too much acid in the stomach and there is no place for the acid to go except back up into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn.

Another common cause is when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) does not close as it should in order to hold down the liquids in the stomach. The LES is a muscle that surrounds the lower portion of the esophagus where it meets up with the stomach. The LES, when functioning properly, will contract and relax. It relaxes when we swallow something, like food, drink or saliva, and then contracts immediately to keep it down. When it is not working properly and the liquid refluxes, this causes symptoms of acid reflux.

A hiatal hernia can be the cause of acid reflux, or it may be the result of acid reflux. This is not known for sure. A hiatal hernia happens when the stomach muscle weakens and pushes up into the esophagus, resulting in the LES being pushed up into the esophagus and becoming unable to do its job

What is acid reflux and how can I stop it? Acid reflux is a very common occurrence and most people will get it at some point in their lives. An antacid should take care of mild symptoms, but if your acid reflux is chronic and cannot be taken care of with antacid, speak to your physician about your symptoms of acid reflux.

The treatment of acid reflux today by conventional western medicines really comes down the prescribing of medications that do not cure this terrible health problem, but only provides relief for a few hours. Conventional thinking is that if it is the acid that causes the problem, then eliminate the acid and the problem will be solved.

This Unique method explained in the Acid Reflux Diet guide, completely cures your acid reflux and gives you permanent relief: Click here for Acid Reflux Diet Guide instant download

Because of this philosophy drugs such as Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) or H(2)-Receptor Blockers were develop. To provide relief from the pain caused by these symptoms they essentially turn off your stomachs ability to generate stomach acid for a few hours.

But, what happens the next time you eat? Your stomach for hours has not been creating the acid it needs to digest the food you are presently consuming. So what does it do, it goes into over-drive to make up for lost time and makes massive amounts of acid quickly it needs to process the meal you are now eating.

What happens next, it is obvious your stomach has to much acid once again and to end the agony and discomfort you are forced to take another pill and start the process once again? A nice little trick the pharmaceutical companies are playing on their customers, wouldn’t you think?

Acid Reflux Treatment with Drugs: Once you start taking these drugs it is very difficult to get off them and your body builds a resistance to them. Over time you will need to increase your dosage to obtain the same relief you once got with a single tablet. Of course your expense for those drugs also increase at this time as does your chances of being afflicted with some of the side affects these drugs produce.

The only real treatment for acid reflux is to change your eating habits slightly as it suggested in the “Acid Reflux Diet“. If you continue to eat foods that do damage to your stomach, esophagus and digestive track then in all likelihood you will need to continue to rely on these drugs for the remainder of your life.

Do You Want to Finally Stop That Awful Pain Using Nothing But Natural, Safe and Effective Methods to Cure Your Acid Reflux and Get Rid of Any Heartburn?

After weeks and weeks of crying after eating and spitting up constantly, my first child was diagnosed with acid reflux. The initial news was disconcerting. It was my first baby, and of course I did not want him to be in any pain or diagnosed with any sort of medical complication. Our pediatrician reassured us that acid reflux is quite a common condition among babies and with some treatment he wouldn`t even feel any of the side effects.

Acid reflux is when the contents of the stomach, including both acid and food, work back up into the esophagus sometimes causing pain and discomfort. Sometimes this causes vomiting or a burp that contains some of the acid and/or food. In babies, it is difficult to tell this is happening, as it is quite common for babies to spit up. If a child spits up or vomits often, and it is accompanied by crying, arching of the back or poor sleeping habits then the child most often is diagnosed with acid reflux. It is true that acid reflux is common in babies, as their muscle closing off the stomach from the esophagus is often not completely formed yet.

Treatment usually includes taking some medication. Often it is recommended to take some over the counter liquid medication, such as Mylanta. Of course, it will be in a very small dose through a dropper because of the child`s size, but it generally is helpful in lessening the discomfort. If this does not seem to be enough to calm the symptoms the doctor may recommend taking a prescription medication such a Prevacid or Zantac. These medications help to stop the production of acid in the stomach, and therefore there is less acid to work back up into the esophagus.

One year later, my first son had outgrown his acid reflux and was doing quite well. After the birth of my second son, I knew what symptoms to look for and brought some concerns to the pediatrician. He, too, was diagnosed with acid reflux. Both of my sons were treated with a combination of Mylanta and Prevacid, and both were not in any obvious pain or discomfort while being treated. Their sleep patterns regulated, they spit up much less, and their overall demeanor was much more pleasant.

Many acid reflux victims, perhaps yourself, have questions about specific food plans that cut out foods causing a degeneration of an acid reflux condition and let you win out over your medical condition. Is there a food plan that will alleviate symptoms of acid reflux?

Before talking about nutritional programs that can alleviate symptoms of acid reflux, let’s quickly review the basic physiological reasons behind acid reflux.

When food moves from the esophagus into the stomach, a muscle is momentarily relaxed to allow the passage of the food. This muscle is the LES or lower esophageal sphincter, a valve-like muscle situated at the junction of the esophagus and the stomach. After passage of the food into the stomach, the LES shuts once more, to retain the acids and juices inside the stomach. If the LES fails to shut properly (owing to different external or internal problems), stomach acid splashes back into the esophagus, causing corrosion and inflammation of the lining, which then makes for the disagreeable pain and burning feeling which we call heartburn.

Doctors tell us that, above all, in patients over 60, one of the causes of esophageal cancer is in fact gastro esophageal reflux disease. Ignoring or postponing treatment of a GERD problem can mean that scar tissue, generated after corrosion and inflammation, can narrow the esophagus. Afterwards, bleeding or ulcers of the esophagus can happen.

Combining nutrition recommendations with additional diet guidelines can have a positive influence on your acid reflux symptoms and on your general well being and health. Doctors and paraprofessionals together have the belief that certain alterations in lifestyle, comprising the addition of certain foods to one’s dietary plan and the abolition of others, can bring benefits to GERD victims:

1. Intake of high-fiber foods (vegetables, whole grains, fruits, among others) can benefit your digestion, halt ulcers and remove toxins to reduce your susceptibility to gastro esophageal reflux disease.

2. Fish and fish oil, which have effective anti-inflammatory agents in their omega-3 fatty acids, can therefore beneficially intervene for acid reflux.

3. More frequent eating of smaller meals and snacks, to improve the operation of the digestive system: larger meals cause a more difficult digestion.

4. Less fatty foods reduces intestinal cell lining inflammation. Removal of fatty and high calorie foods taking longer to digest and to eliminate from your body, decreases the risk that acid will splash back up into your esophagus.

5. Limiting your consumption of coffee, chocolate, alcohol and tomatoes which tend to weaken the esophageal sphincter and therefore aggravate e phenomenon of acid reflux.

The afore-mentioned dieting guidelines and others can bring considerable benefit to sufferers of acid reflux if followed correctly, yet they are but a minor component of the overall all-natural approach which targets the fundamental causes of acid reflux. The only possibility for permanent healing and prevention of acid reflux recurrence is the disappearance of all factors either internal or external that contribute to acid reflux by using the holistic approach.

Following a holistic approach together with a food plan for the right nutrition for acid reflux will give you the chance to halt acid reflux symptoms and stop its return permanently. You now know that your discomforting and distressing acid reflux condition can be eliminated forever by adhering to an overall holistic solution.

If you suffer form heartburn, or acid reflux, then you’ll know that you need medication to prevent an attack. By visiting your local drugstore you should be able to find many acid medication reflux treatments to prevent your reflux.

There are different forms of medication that can be taken for heartburn and acid reflux. Each one will react in a different way. Their effect on acid reflux varies for each person, but with all these forms of acid medication reflux relief is the still might not be at hand for you. Especially if you suffer from serious acid reflux.

Mild forms of acid reflux can be treated with antacids. There are stronger forms of antacids like Mylanta II, Maalox II and Riopan. The liquid forms of antacid are more preferred by a greater number of people than the tablet variety. Whatever type of antacid that you take, they need to be swallowed 30 to 60 minutes after your meals and before going to bed.

Many doctors advise against eating certain types of foods. These foods have chemicals that can trigger acid reflux. Thus avoiding foods like chocolate and peppermints as well as tomatoes and products that are made from tomatoes can lessen the chance of stomach acid refluxing into the esophagus and causing heartburn and acid reflux.

There is a number of stomach acid medication reflux reducing drugs on the market these days. These acid reducers are called histamine receptor blockers. Proton-Pump Inhibitors or PPIs are found to be just as effective at inhibiting the acid production within your stomach and prevent excess stomach acids from refluxing into the esophagus. Drugs like Prokinetic or Motility have the ability to close the lower esophageal sphincter muscle more tightly. The use of additional drug therapy, like Omepraxole or Lansoprazole can heal esophageal inflammation very quickly. These drugs are a valuable aid in acid medication reflux.

Surgery is considered only if the symptoms of acid reflux don’t respond to other acid medication reflux treatments. About less than 25% of people who have acid reflux requires surgery. During this minimally invasive reflux procedure which is carried out through the belly button, specialists use pencil-thin cameras to see a detailed picture inside of the body.

From there they insert other tiny instruments through small incisions into the body to surgically correct the acid reflux disorder. Thus a newer and more efficient esophageal valve is created by wrapping the stomach pleat around the esophagus. This surgical procedure is called Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication.

Not everyone needs it, but if your acid reflux, or heartburn won’t respond to acid medication reflux treatments, then you might need to consider this as an option.

Acid reflux causes are complicated and multiple. The disease of acid reflux, known also as GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease), comes about because of the coincidence of several medical and lifestyle factors. Physiological conditions that provoke reflux include LES (lower esophageal sphincter) hypotonia (the progressive weakening of the LES), together with the backwards flow of the contents of the stomach into the esophagus and the sensitivity to the reflux content of the mucus of the esophagus.

The food that you swallow moves down your throat and contractions of the esophagus muscles then push it further. In the area of the junction of the esophagus and the stomach, there is a valve-like mechanism which is the LES (lower esophageal sphincter). Closing this muscle stops stomach acid from returning or refluxing into the esophagus.

The problem with the LES is the first causal step to the disease of acid reflux. In a healthy person, the LES is only relaxed upon food moving from the esophagus into the stomach. When the food is inside the stomach, the valve shuts again to maintain stomach acid and content inside. When the LES is weakened however and fails to shut correctly, acid can be pushed back up your throat causing a painful burning feeling which is heartburn.

There are several conditions or factors preventing the LES from properly shutting. They include genetic weakness, being overweight and eating too much fatty foods. As well as those factors, the aging process undergone by humans tends to make all muscles sag, not just the LES.

The next factor or group of factors responsible for acid reflux disease are related to behavior and lifestyle. As already indicated, an LES that is already weak contributes directly to acid reflux disease at the physiological level. Various foodstuffs, drugs and processes of the nervous system can cause weakening in this muscle and exacerbate acid reflux. Foods possibly triggering acid reflux include orange juice, lemons and lemonade, grapefruit juice, tomatoes et their juice, fried potatoes, sour cream, tea and coffee.

There are several possibilities for dealing with symptomatic acid reflux. Nevertheless, the classic often used approaches, based on prescription and over the counter medication, only deal with the symptoms of chronic acid reflux. They may not be sufficiently effective to give long-term prevention of acid reflux. These classic approaches do not heal or protect the esophagus correctly and using these over the counter and prescription drugs, including antacid, over a long duration can cause multiple side effects ranging running the gamut from uncomfortable to dangerous.

Other than prescription medication, there is a large choice of alternative treatments including homeopathy, herbal remedies and all encompassing all natural holistic therapies that address your acid reflux problem while also resolving the internal causes of acid reflux and healing them rather than targeting only related symptoms that are external.

As a natural health expert, I must get 10 e-mails a day asking, “What are foods to avoid for acid reflux?” Though you should avoid a few particular foods, you should also be eating a few particular foods that help with acid reflux, also called heartburn. Let me explain!

One remedy for GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) is a simple apple. Please visit our Natural Cure for GERD website and read about how my dad came from the brink of death (caused by acid reflux) to completely cured by a simple apple. Though you might think this cure is ridiculous. It might find you carrying a slice of apple everywhere you go from now on?

Though an apple works for some of my customers, many acid reflux sufferers discover that changing a few dieting habits can often permanently cure their reflux problem.

Curing the Reflux Problem

Most likely, the main problem behind your reflux problem is your damaged esophagus (tube that brings food to stomach) and your sphincter (muscle that keeps stomach acid in your stomach). If you consistently suffer from heartburn, acid reflux, GERD or Hiatus Hernia you need to discover how to heal and prevent further damage to the esophagus and sphincter.

You should also note that antacids are NOT going to cure your reflux problem. If you look on the back on any antacid label you will discover that you should only take them for 4-8 weeks. This is because by taking them any longer than 6 weeks you can actually drastically increase your chances of getting cancer in the pancreas, stomach and esophagus.

Our Natural Cure for GERD begins with your diet and using a holistic (whole body) approach. Here are a few tips we share with our customers.

Cure Acid Reflux Diet

1. Avoid Spicy and Acidic Foods- You should initially avoid spicy and acidic foods that may damaged your esophagus and sphincter.

2. Stop Smoking- The chemicals in cigarettes will cause more irritation and cause reflux problems. It would be recommended that you finally quit smoking. My reflux remedy report will lead you to a natural cure to quit smoking.

3. Limit Coffee and Caffeine- A good tip would be to moderate your consumption of coffee in the morning. The acid from coffee can also cause damage to the esophagus. A good suggestion would be to eat an apple which will also wake you up in the morning.

4. Drink Water after Every Meal- This reflux remedy varies from person to person. But in most cases, water will wash the sphincter clean after each meal and create a tight seal to keep the stomach acid in the stomach.

5. Two Teaspoons of Raw Honey- Take 2 teaspoons of raw honey whenever you feel a reflux flare-up. Honey in liquid form has been known to fight bacteria, block infection, combat inflammation, reduce pain, and improve circulation. It also stimulates the regrowth of tissue.

6. Chew Your Food Longer- By chewing your food longer, you can actually decrease the chance of food scratching and irritating your esophagus and sphincter. Make a habit to chew your foods longer. Take 2 weeks to build this good habit.

7. Softer foods are Better- For the first couple days of treatment you should avoid crunchy foods. Hard, crunchy foods will irritate the esophagus.

Be Acid Reflux Free Forever

Discover more home remedies for acid reflux that work in hours with no antacids and no pain at our Natural Cure for GERD website.
